
On 7 hectares of the Castegens Castle scenic area, within cannon range of the original battleground, 600 volunteers, including nearly 50 cavalrymen, take part in this large-scale historical re-enactment. Beyond the feats of arms, these intense 90 minutes of outdoor night show, waterfalls and pyrotechnic effects bring us back into the life in the Middle Ages, between farms and inns, women at the well, grape harvest scenes, acrobats, tooth pullers and street vendors.

During the Day…
All around the battle site, an exceptional region to discover: Castillon, Saint-Émilion, Montaigne and its castle, Bordeaux, the Dordogne…

In the Evening…
Aliénor’s Village opens at 6.30 pm: tastings with winemakers, medieval craftsmen, entertainments, games and conferences…

Gutenberg’s printing invention leads to an unprecedented revolution: culture is accessible to more people and allows ideas and knowledge to spread. Historians therefore agree to consider this key period as the end of the Middle Ages…
