The Bordeaux River Festival 2019 (Bordeaux fête le fleuve) 20/23 June

This event will take place from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 June. This long weekend will gather a river festival, but also the opening of the various exhibitions, proposals or meetings initiated by the cultural season. The 2019 will give a large place to the theme of Freedom.

FESTIVE SIDE
Great free concerts
On the Esplanade des Quinconces, a large stage, will host four major free concerts in partnership with RTL2 and Bordeaux’s city. Sailboats and nautical animations
Class A sailboats will be welcomed at the dock or Ponton d’Honneur; they will be open to visits all the day and privatizations in the evening.
Nautical activities will be proposed on the Garonne: swimming across the river, races of rowing, regattas, nautical excursions … Among the tall ships: the two largest sailboats in the world are expected Kruzenshtern and Sedov, as well as riggings: Skeaf, Expedition 7th Continent, Zenobe Gramme, Rara Avis and Seudre.. The Sedov and the Kruzenshtern, are two four-masts Russian mythical sailing ships built in Germany. The two French sailboats have educational missions in the field of ocean ecology. The creation of a night show on the Garonne
On Thursday and Saturday at 10:45 pm, Groupe F will take possession of the Miroir d’Eau and illuminate the Garonne and its banks with a spectacular installation and a large pyrotechnic and light show shot from the river. An exhibition about Freedom
A trip around the theme of “Liberty Boats” will plunge the visitors in some feats of arms of the maritime history and port of Bordeaux. It will be extended with “Horizons Liberté” a more complete exhibition proposed to the Museum of the Sea and the Navy. Original artistic works: sculptures, installations, design
Presented as part of the Cultural Season, installed on the docks on this occasion, they will remain exposed several weeks. The curatorship of these exhibitions is entrusted to curators of international renown. Two spaces entrusted to chefs from Bordeaux, New Aquitaine or elsewhere for original gastronomic proposals, gourmet huts for variations around traditional recipes revisited, on the left bank.
Banquet “Fauna and Flora” and wine-party, on Saturday and Sunday evening, in the heart of the Botanical Garden, on the right bank.

CONVENIENCE SIDE
A food & drink village will be part of the perimeter of the “concert stage” and will include several stands.
A partner village will propose institutional pavilions, tourism or media, associative stands, information desks on summer activities.

BORDEAUX CELEBRATES ITS WHITE WINES
On the occasion of Bordeaux Fête le Fleuve, with winegrowers and traders discover the whites of the region!
In an open-air village, meet men and women who make the 31 appellations of white Bordeaux.
With the purchase of a Tasting Pass , enjoy a glass, a glass door and also 3 tastings to discover their cuvées of dry white, sweet white or Crémant.
