This extraordinary, newly completed, architect designed home in the heart of Bondi feels like an urban oasis, as the line between inside and out blur to create that perfect Sydney summer experience. Bismarck House, by Andrew Burges Architects, has recently taken out a number of NSW Architecture Awards for residential alterations and additions and an Interior commendation. It has now been shortlisted for the Dezeen International Architecture Awards in 3 categories to be announced in late October.

Once you step inside Bismarck house you will see the serene semi industrial space with whitewashed, reclaimed brick walls styled to perfection with designer and vintage furniture and sublime handcrafted details.

The tiled kitchen bench gives an honest and functional look with warmth added by the American oak shelving and drawers.
The oven, cooktop, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer are all Miele. The deep window seat within the kitchen allows for engagement with the laneway or for privacy when the timber screen is pulled across.
