I am dreaming about my next trip to Australia and all the great beaches there !
I visit Sydney quite regularly in the summertime (our French winter time) as my brother lives there. Consequently I have already been to a few beaches around the city and I would like to introduce you to the one in Dee Why if you don’t know it yet. A lovely beach I like to go to with my cute nephew Antoine. Yes, I know you are looking forward to my next visit 🙂
Dee Why beach is located on the Northern Beaches approx 20km from Sydney’s CBD. It is situated to the north of Curl Curl and South of Long Reef. . I like this beach very much as it is not overrun with tourists (as Bondi for instance). It is a very good family option, as it has picnic areas, a playground and salt water swimming pools too (one specific for kids).
Dee Why also has an abundance of fantastic cafes which makes this a lively place to spend afternoon and night. Easy carpark: You can park for free by the pool Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays/Sundays, a 3 hour free car park is allowed, which still gives you plenty of time to enjoy the site. Access by bus: 136, 169 and 199 buses have routes to Dee Why.

New Year in Dee Why: 5 years ago I actually spent New Year’s Eve in Dee Why and it was really enjoyable. People settled there by about 4/5 pm with their picnic. As it can be very windy by the ocean and also cool late at night, I would suggest to bring your little tent and also a few jumpers & blankets to keep warm till the fireworks start.

ENJOY DEE WHY BEACH !!!
