As a wine lover I really wanted to visit a vineyard in Tasmania. I chose this place as I had seen on the net they were really good rated, it was kid friendly (little ducks everywhere, toys) and you could bring your picnic, pretty convenient. This is their Reverse BYO which allows you to bring your own food, but no drinks. Puddleduck Vineyard is nestled in the Coal River Valley of Southern Tasmania. Open from 10 am-5 pm daily (except a few bank holidays, check their site) and a short 20 minute drive from the heart of Hobart on the road to historic Richmond, Port Arthur or Hobart Airport.

Riesling tasted really good !! Tasmania has a climate which suits this grape variety. They also produce a sparkling white wine, “Champenoise method”, very tasty. The owner explained how much his wife was keen on Champagne.

We went for a complete wine tasting at 20$, 5 different wines including pinot noir, rosé, chardonnay, riesling and sparkling wine.

This is the place to be for kids ! They can enjoy the outdoor games like the slide or inflatable licorns & dinosaurs. Of course they can also run after the ducks ! Good sleep assured afterwards.
