Bordeaux: And another tea room ! / L’autre salon de thé, à Bordeaux

Let’s enjoy tearooms and restaurants now we all have our pass !

Because you sometimes need a soft break in your afternoon, I had tried (before this Covid !!) this place with a friend. I had already been a few years ago but didn’t remember it.. So here are my impressions !

This tea room really reminds me of a British atmostphere, I mean the Queen’s one, not the ordinary consumer…

The Baroque decoration (mirrored walls, paintings, candlesticks and flower tea sets) really evokes another century. Their pastries are soooo delicious that you will forget straight away any kind of place like Starbucks…or other places of the kind.

The choice of teas as well as cakes is quite huge and you can taste both classics (cheesecake and apple pie) and discoveries (cake pistachio-raspberry or Slice Fudge Square – delicious mixture of chocolate and caramel). The map, remained unchanged for years, has literally become a must in Bordeaux.

I indulged myself with this pistache cake, chocolate and raspberries, a delight ! Notice the English type porcelaine (with roses). With this smile on my face I can’t deny I had a great time !

It is also possible to have a brunch, a quick lunch or a dinner, but I haven’t tried it yet.. Will let you know as soon as I have tried..no worries !

Where ? 11 rue des Remparts, near Porte Dijeaux/Gambetta square 05-56-48-55-43 When ? Sunday + Monday : 12h-19h and Tuesday to Saturday : 12h-22h30
