Domaine de la solitude: un vin de circonstances, restez à la maison et dégustez / Stay home, drink alone: Domaine de la solitude (“loneliness”), a great Bordeaux wine

As I cannot go personally on spot to visit new wine properties, go to wine tastings or wine events and share with you my current experiences, however I can still talk (write !) about properties I have visited already and enjoyed. Domaine de la Solitude is one of them. This property is located in the AOC Pessac-Léognan, in Martillac, very close to Bordeaux. Their wines are of a great quality. The AOC Pessac-Léognan usually opens its doors to the public in December, so this year should be early december 2020, Coronavirus will be behind us then, so you will be able to come, visit & enjoy a wine tasting !

Read the history of Domaine de la Solitude on their website: http://www.domainedelasolitude.com/index.php?p=une_histoire

“In 1993, a few months after having been solicited by the Sisters of la Sainte Famille, Olivier Bernard, who has overseen the Domaine de Chevalier since 1983, accepted the tenancy of the wine producing Domaine de la Solitude for a period of 40 years.”

It is necessary to research the origin of the name of La Solitude within the rules of the Sainte Famille community. “The Sisters pray during a life devoted to God in the silence of Solitude for His glory and the salvation of all” Alain Labatut
