Discover the marvellous Château La Dominique in Saint-Emilion

Château La Dominique is a Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion (29 hectares) and belongs to the Fayat family. Among its prestigious neighbours are Cheval Blanc, Figeac, L’Evangile and La Conseillante.

An avant-garde cellar designed by world famous architect Jean Nouvel was housed in the traditional 18th century château in 2013.

The Restaurant: La Terrasse Rouge

The rooftop restaurant offers magnificient views over the vineyards.

Jean Nouvel’s influence can be seen everywhere, from the restaurant building’s design to the furniture it contains. Large bay windows, huge volumes, and a decor marked by both wood and mineral aspects create a setting where light is ubiquitous. The restaurant has a terrace with smooth red glass pebbles that affords a charming, panoramic view of the surroundings vineyards.

The Menu

I ate in this restaurant for my birthday in 2018 (acutally in February). Each year it is my best present to go to a place I have never been to, and enjoy a delicious Menu, paired with amazing wines obviously. The Menu Gourmand is 39€ (add 25€ for complete wine pairing with 3 glasses) and highlights local culinary tradition. As you can see from my pictures it looks really tasty, and it was ! I am thinking of trying another Nicolas Lascombes’ restaurants this year (maybe La Chapelle of Château Guiraud in Sauternes) Book your lunch or dinner on the site here : http://www.laterrasserouge.com
